1/21/2024 Scioto Trail pt14 to pt17

1/21/2024 Scioto Trail section met Krista at pt14 where we found parking not sure is legal but we saw others parked there. I spent the night in Chillicothe and was able to get there in 20 minutes. Krista went home and returned so it was about a 10am start and a 2pm ish finish. It was cold but slightly warmer than yesterday at about 15 to 30 F. I ended up eating some breakfast at hotel and grabbed a extra bagel and peanut butter for after hike. I don't eat breakfast normally but it was OK and the bagel was a nice snack.

1/20/2024 Scioto Trail pt8 to pt14

1/20/2024 Scioto Trail met Krista at gas station on 50 near Londonderry.  It was extremely cold near 5 F and the day before it had snowed a few inches 3 to 4.  We decided to break into 2 hikes mostly due to my concern to get to some of the parking.  Mostly at Krista's determination we proceeded with caution.

3.46 first and includes a bit of wrong path since we missed the turn
5.22 to finish the day and make it worth while
3.46mi + 5.22mi = 8.68mi

We parked at a church down the road and on trail.

Lickskillet. Would not recommend that today.

Since last walked here the trail has moved and I believe now goes next to cemetery.  We continued to the marathon where we parked before.

I did not get a photo of where we stated at pt14 but this is after that and in the process of going over the hill.  There looks to be a number of 2 track roads back here for 4x4 truck travel.

Most of the day we had seen some other track truck or human already there.  This was mostly clear piece and grabbed a picture of it.

Still coming down then hill.  It goes out a ways for passage across the bottom.

Additional note spent night in Chillicothe at the Hampton Inn and dinner was at Roosters while a chain I do love the wings here.
