2/22/2025 Buckeye Treat Trail with Central Chapter

So this started last year at Trailfest in Columbus. Randall noticed this new program they were doing around the sweet shops in Columbus. There was a close cluster in Columbus that could be reached in a short walk in german village. Randall, Matt, and Christina were the first group to do this and did the first day I think of trailfest. So myself and Krista though it would be a good idea to do this and share with the overall BTA as an outing for some fun in Columbus. We worked with Brian and due to timing of moving between meetup and eventbrite I thought it would be best to have this in the test Central eventbrite and asked Brian to post there. This was a popular event with 35 signups and about 20 that showed. A cold day shared with friends exploring Columbus. Would do it again in an instant. I ended up eating Lunch with Mary, Wally, Dave, and Victoria at Schmidt’s Sausage Haus.

 2/12/2025 Roads Rivers and Trails

The Chapter partnered with RRT in Milford to provide an information session about the trail.

The audience that showed was very interested in the trail and had some knowledge and awareness of the trail for the most part.

This was the first time the chapter had been here in a number of years.  I think it is an important part of reestablishing the Chapter.  The STA sheltowee trace association that supports long trail in KY hosts an event here every year for their hiker challenge.  The BTA should have at least the same footprint and hold in Milford ad the STA.  I love the STA and the challenge- I am a lifetime member, but it's Ohio just how I view it.

Friday I drove up to north of Dayton and stayed to get an early start for Saturday. Met Krista at 930 at the Bellevue Community Center. We shuttled to Cylde parking area. Krista took a fall about 4 miles in and still continued to finish. Krista broke her shoulder and was in bad pain. We walked past the hospital and she visited after the hike.
