7/3/2022 St. Marys Pt14 Lake Loramie State Park to Pt10 Newport

7/3/2022 St. Marys Pt14 Lake Loramie State Park to Pt10 Newport.  Second day of trip after night at Lake Loramie State Park campground.  Total out and back was 15.52mi. It was heavy on road walk to be honest and it was super hot roasted along these miles but made good speed and fast miles here.  The off road aka woods parts are nice and very smooth besides 1 point there is a major down hill and almost immediately after a return to same level.  The campground is tricky and I mean the camp along the trail that you go through.  The blue blazes are on the telephone poles and hard to follow and you can easy miss the turn toward the bridge.  There is a Casey's similar to speedway right off trail.  It is 1.7miles from pt14 campground and basically it is pt13.  Coffee in morning and water and gatoraid on way back.  There is a public bathroom here as well.

Bt sections complete no change
Loveland, Ceasar Creek, Troy, Williamsburg
Bt miles 1 way based on complete sections
45.9mi + 55.1mi + 51.9mi + 51.7mi = 204.6mi
nct total this year 176.59mi + 15.52mi =193.11mi
Total for year 263.21mi + 15.52mi = 278.73mi
Today is day 184 of year, on track for 365

The road walk out of the park.  I guess you can walk on the sides but really it's a road walk.

This is odd.  It is at the end of road from campground and the sign is normal for points in state park.  It seems sorta off property.

Entering Loramie

Far away view of St Michaels church

Up close.

On the corner the wilderness trail museum.

It would have been nice later but I did not go for ice cream.

In the middle between the roads tight in basically downtown is this log cabin.

Veteran memorial

Slightly different sign about some history of buckeye trail.

Mile marker for canal.

Some canal history sign.

This is a part of trail between a number of houses and is difficult to tell where the trail is.

View into trail

View from those houses comes to here.

Driveway road path.

It keeps going

This is at a road crossing but the trail goes down the road not across.

View down the road.  You turn away from town but I think there is a dollar general visible and walkable from here.

View from the bridge.

View from the bridge

Road walk.

These farms look so awesome.  They just remind me of a toy farm set.

These cows were friendly as I walked by they would approach the fence to greet me.

End of road but more road walk to the left.

Great views of canals from another bridge.

The other direction from the bridge of the canal.

End of the road for real at the moment.  Into the woods.

Nice shade and it was welcome on this hot day.

Where you come out to a farm field.
Walk along not across field.

Better View of field walk.

This is at the end of that field.

There is a gate that is locked.  You have to go around the side.

Road crossing. Nicely marked here to continue.

The private campground.

It says follow blue blazes but they go through and are marked on the telephone poles.

These are outside the fence.

This was the first blaze seen.

Some event going on.  This is next to campground it seems like a country music festival.

I missed this at first. It is where the road takes a major turn and this is off cross corner away from road.

The bridge is just a concrete slab.

The sign entering or for me exiting the private campground

Shade was so welcome.

Signs for miami and eric trail after entering or exiting normally after a road.

Come out of the woods and this is the view before the pizza place at pt10.

This is where I stopped and will pickup next time.  Great sign.

This is the view back toward the trail.

View back toward trail.  Really close to this house.
