8/13/2022 West Union pt4 to pt2. This was 8mi out and back total miles. I actually continued past pt for a bit but did not make pt1. I parked at the lot near pt4 for the visitor center.
Bt sections complete no change
Loveland, Ceasar Creek, Troy, Williamsburg, St. Marys
Bt miles 1 way based on complete sections
45.9mi + 55.1mi + 51.9mi + 51.7mi + 45.5mi= 250.1mi
nct total this year 190.41mi + 8mi =198.41mi
Total for year 274.23mi + 8mi = 282.23mi
Today is day 225 of year, on track for 365
Another sign at the entrance of trail.
Beautiful trail
Blue blazed let's go
This reminded me of New Mexico rocky dry dirt.
Meadows many changes seen here in forest.
We are walking up through these switchbacks to the top where there are some rock formations.
It is narrow and blends right in. Very easy to follow the path..mostly 😀
Here is the rocks at the top.
View from the overlook on the side.
This is.75 miles from parking and here we move from the one trail to just buckeye nct miles across the edge of appalachia.
Leading to the grave is flags and is hard to miss. It is directly on the trail.
Floods grave pt3 for bt.
Switching from meadow to forest but mostly forest.
Weird post here not sure why the pot is like that.
A closer view of the pot or whatever at base of 4x4.
Many wild flowers.
Purple cones. Many are seen.
Forest with nice shade.
Personal marker? Someone lost a bandana.
I never did see the numbers. So not sure on meaning overall.
Pt2 at edge of trailhead parking lot.
Parking at pt2 we go to road and it's a bit tricky here.
Showing turn for bt on road.
Continue but soon a turn.
Here is that turn.
This is about 20 ft down road from that tree turn. I see why now since there is not much else to mark. Was a bit confused at first till I saw the bridge.
Some of the trail is a bit overgrown and some trees down. But not bad.
View of Rock across the stream. At times this stream is 4 or 5 feet wide and well established and you get some nice views that are very canyon like.
Same rock
This is a spot where it gets a bit confusing for about 10 to 20 ft. You come out to a road canyon and it looks like a road almost. The trail going from pt4 to 1 down hill a bit and then picks up again. Not this is the exit and there is a blue ribbon on the tree.
View up hill
View down hill.
Out of order the buildings across from parking and there is a toilet there as well
Also out of order but this is where I left hamster.
So I saw this diner here at least the sign right off the exit. The place is called cruisers and very cool place. I had the hubcap a 1 lb burger and an order of chili cheese fries. A great way to finish the day after a long hike. They also have milkshakes.
