5/25/2024 Old Man's Cave pt14 to pt19
Met up with Krista at pt19 (formerly this was pt18 and did not notice. It leaves me a gap of 2.6 miles). We shuttled to pt14 which we recently hiked and walked back. Memorial Day weekend and the parking was insane.

Parked at Old Man's Cave
Krista found parking at Campground but could only park temporarily. So I walked 5 minutes over and we used the bathroom and shopped here.
This is the path between Old Mans Cave Campground office and parking.
This was so pretty everywhere this trip. A few weak spots but really magical.
Sharp turn but it just a switchback.
Krista making the way across the stream
Back to nice path.
So much beauty on this route.
See it's just everywhere here
Another stream
More turns and it's really well blazed
We were working in and out of a number of preserves and there are these gates as you go. This is a new reroute to an old path that was taken away from the buckeye trail and then given use.
Cool mushroom
Almost there
Krista on the other side and me grabbing pictures.
Quality picture of Krista and even a blue blaze
New pieces here
Really nice trail
Gotta love the shade
When it looks like this it's hard to beat
Nicely marked
You go past a number of Cool rock formations.
Horse trail and maps along the way
We semi got turned around here. It's the obvious path come out of woods and leav via a Old road at the end of parking lot.
It gets hard to keep trak of what property you are on.
You come into this area which looks to be a horse rest area. So many horses out today.
What the bridge crosses
A bridge
Other side
You walk along this for sometime. The picture does not do this justice.
You go right through here
Love the cover. This part seemed a bit horse water eroded.
Someone down there playing.
Back to forest
I remember it was hot and I was feeling it here
Gravel path
Cool sign it has personality.
Path to a parking lot near Old Man's Cave we debated just cutting over to the car. But we did the extra piece not much extra value but we had to stay true and walk the trail.
Archery across from campground
Almost back. The trail crosses road and goes through a field back to campground and the parking for Old Man's Cave. It looks like a loop without return.
