8-2-2025 Burton pt22 to pt27

8-2-2025 Burton pt22 to pt27

There was a Little Loop Hike run by the Chapter at 830, but I could not make this time.  Jess joined the early hike.  Myself and Kim decided to come a bit later at 11am.  Katie decided to join us.  We met at the Troy Cemetery and shuttled to Welton's Gorge.  The hike was a mix of road and off road.  Alot of meadows with some drainage issues.  There was a few pine forests that made the off road worth while.  The road is busy in this section but often it felt like a bad choice to divert off the road.  Its all part of the experience .

Total 11.75 mi

Bt sections complete 15
Loveland, Ceasar Creek, Troy, Williamsburg, St. Marys, Delphos, West Union, Sinking Spring, Shawnee, Scioto Trail, Old Man's Cave, New Straitsville, Defiance, Pemberville, Norwalk

And they were never seen again.

It was a bit swampy back here at first

Some areas were very nice as well.

I wonder how old this sign is.
Always cool to see the different signs

Lake up ahead to the side of trail.

Snail spotting

It seemed like we popped out to road and crossed and went back into woods a few times on this path

A few swampy areas lol.

Careful working our way through

So much poison ivy today

Loved hiking in the pines.
This is a man planted forest and you can see how regular it is.
Pine trees go sorta odd how they drop they lower branches.

Look at that forest floor.
Pine for days.

This looks like the edge of 2 environments pine to the right and different trees to the left
