6/18/2022 St. Mary's from pt19 to pt21

6/18/2022 St. Mary's from pt19 to pt21.  Total miles 14.95.  This was out and back total. Stayed in New Breman at Iron and Rind.  Ate at Dollys on 2nd street which about 2 blocks from trail and 2nd intersects with trail as well and the path I took back for a slightly shorter day.  Also west 17 is a upscale place to eat in town and next to the bicycle museum on monroe st.

First 1.25mi is paved in new bremen and the remainder is cut grass meadow that follows the canal.  Nice walk.  I ran into one person out walking her puppy.  She was very nice and chatted for a bit.  One gentleman was out in his yard while in town and also nice said hi and asked if I was walking the buckeye trail.  Some of the signs were different here as well.  The walk was a very nice day and great experience.  I was a bit worried what the end would look like in St. Mary's

Bt sections complete no change
Loveland, Ceasar Creek, Troy, Williamsburg
Bt miles 1 way based on complete sections
45.9mi + 55.1mi + 51.9mi + 51.7mi = 204.6mi
nct total this year 131.0mi + 14.95mi = 145.95mi
Total for year 207.18mi + 14.95mi = 222.13mi
Today is day 169 of year, on track for 365

Picture of Bollys about 2 blocks down from trail on and street in new bremen.

This is the front of the shelter.

Location of the shelter here it is about 1 mile from new bremen and it is off the paved section.
I took pictures of this on way back.

Not sure you can see the deer here.  I tried to capture in the photo.

Farm house.

I found this interesting many eagle projects.  This was the first gold award which is a girls scout award similar.

View along the canal.

At the end by St. Mary's you walk that concrete path here.

Is sorta zigs and Zags across here.

The water coming down this wall.  Not sure if is a spillway or what.

A bit of weeds block this but manageable.

The wooden milage markers are an eagle project too.  I enjoyed these signs and helped greatly on the way back.

This is slightly before the St. Mary's ladders and such.  A bit overgrown and at the last house going toward St. Mary's.

This is the bridge you cross where it is overgrown and it seems like the canal sorta comes off here.

Signs of the locks.

More locks.

Most of the time looks like this.

There is a nice lock here and one of 2 that can be really seen on this path.  All the signs I am not sure anything is really there or they just mark the locations they were.

An away view of the lock.

A nice view.

You see these signs typically at road crossings.

Nice blaze here.  Typical where you see the wood trail signs across the path.

Unsure meaning of stone. Assume old canal mile marker.

These are signs that count down from NB New Bremen to SM St. Mary's.  Its 7 total miles.

The view just keeps going.

This might be 125 and think it is replacement for an old canal marker.

A little section with shade.

Keep going. I cant say they all are there but most seems to be and about .5 miles.

Is someone else here?  Did not see them.

Far off there is an old cemetery

Another eagle project and a nice sign and map for the city of New Bremen.

Your basically a .5 miles for New Bremen here and you can see all the parks around.

Big cardinal.

I saw about 10 bunnies on this walk.  A few deer as well.

Another eagle project

This looks to be remains of a lock.

These signs are on the paved section near New Bremen.  Very cool in my opinion.

The bicycle museum is just off the trail.

The outside of the building

This is the overall end of that street 2 buildings there and the shared parking.  West 17 is next to museum.
