5/14/2022 Troy past pt 17 French Park to end of Troy pt 21

5/14/2022 Troy past pt 17 to end of Troy pt 21 parked at French Park in Piqua and walked to end of Troy section. It was a nice 11.6 total miles.  Some paved a bit of road walk and some field and footpath type trail.

Bt sections complete add Troy
Loveland, Ceasar Creek, Troy
Bt miles 1 way based on complete sections
45.9mi + 55.1mi + 51.9mi = 152.9mi
nct total 94.16mi + 11.6mi. = 105.76mi
Fully got my 100 miles for NCT 2022 I applied past week.
Total for year 170.42mi + 11.6mi = 182.02mi
Today is day 134 of year, on track for 365

So mapmywalk again failed. It shows time but mileage was lost.  So from google data.

Need to check this.
The text and the map do not align.
I walked both. Basically its around the block.

I did this from where I parked. So it shows distance to pt21 which is end of Troy.

Google data of the walk.

Picture of hamster and how I left her.

Park opens early.
Google is wrong but it worked out.

French Park sign out in front.

The start of the linear trail 66.  Canal run trail.  It makes sense the name from these pictures.  Many feature old locks.

Close up of the sign.

First street crossing

You see these the whole way and it is just over 2 miles and they are every .10 mile.

The linear park basically this is outside of French Park and on trail 66.

Another street crossing.

Nice area to sit.
People were out fishing and in boats.

The view here of the paved path.
Just an example.

Heron over on the bank.
Saw 2 of them today.

Nice shot of him flying.

Another street crossing.

Ducks

Some more of the paved path trail 66.

The second heron.

Some nice areas here for people to use along the trail.

Road crossing

Piqua baseball field.

View along the baseball field.

Canadian Trespassers.

Another example of the mile markers.
 They also have wooden posts.

Part of the trail runs along a cemetery.
Very pretty and large. It looks to have a few walking paths.

Another view of the other side of the cemetery.

You go across these 2 bridges.

Cool rock island in the lake.

After the bridge it is more a meadow to the road.  It is a short walk.

View of where the meadow ends.
From here you head across this street and down the road across from here.

These are historical markers for the farm.

This is a veteran memorial.

Historical marker about a battle.

This is about an important indian area for trading.

This is the farm and where the next part of the walk is.  Just past this sign is a service road which is more meadow.

Sign post marks the turn.

Meadows service road.

Just past this is the turn.

This is the slightly improved road here.   The turn is off this part.  If you go to far you hit an open field again.

This is the turn.

The footpath.  It was readable but not great.

So here we have water everywhere and just the bridge.

Lock.  You walk down the side of this.

How the other end is into the water.

View of lock from other side.

Again footpath.

Footpath.

This is the turn on the footpath.
It is noticable both directions.

View of river.

And this is where you come out from the footpath.  This would be hard to see if you did not know it was there.

Walk down the end of the road.

View the other direction.
There looks to be a few houses here.

End of the road and a right turn.

This is the lock at the end of the road.

View down the next road.

Side view of the lock.

Cool farm tool in yard.

View of the river.

More of the road view.

Cool farm house.

Welcome to Lockington

The end of Troy section and the lock.

Sign for the lock at the end of Troy.
