5/8/2022 Troy pt 16 to past pt 17

5/8/2022 Troy pt 16 to past pt 17 parked at Peterson Rd  Farrington Reserve and walked to French Park in Piqua. It was a nice 9.1 total miles all paved out and back trip.

Bt sections complete no change
Loveland, Ceasar Creek
Bt miles 1 way based on complete sections
45.9mi+55.1mi=101mi
nct total 85.06mi + 9.1mi. = 94.16mi
Total for year 161.32mi + 9.1mi = 170.42mi
Today is day 128 of year, on track for 365

So this is where I got today.  My stomach was a bit of a mess so I diverted into French Park in Piqua.  The bathroom was closed.  Then walked down the street since I saw a few that might have availability in a store etc.  Tried Rallys drive through only, Cvs did not see one nor could I find anyone to ask,  and Tim Horton's drive through only today it seems so no luck.  Went to the auto parts store and got lucky.  Scrambled up the back of the parking lot to return to trail.  It is very steep here.  Went further out and glad I stopped since the trail actually locks to take the path into French Park and not further on to the Indiana Ohio trail 39.

Where I left the hamster. It was the furthest spot in the lot.  There is limited parking here and it is popular, both weekends I came here it was empty at 9 but full when I came back to my car.

Today we go north- that's this way.

Really pretty water fall just on the other side of the road from parking lot.

We continue with mileage markers but seems they are updating them as seen later in piqua.

Such a nice day.

A little side path to the river from trail.

Mile marker

View down the path.

The traditional trail GMRRT 25 marker.

This is the closed piqua nuclear energy plant.

Sign about the history of the plant.

So somehow I missed this turn.  There are signs that tell you to turn.  But I was looking for the blue blazes which are actually inside this fence area.

View from bridge.

You cross this bridge after the fence area.

The newer- I assume- mileage markers every 0.10miles. Very nice.

Piqua is a trail town

Small little sitting area next to this by the river.

More old mile markers

View approaching Piqua from the south on trail.

Not sure if the blue is meant to be for buckeye trail or some other meaning.

Some cool artwork under the bridge.

Not sure what this is.  It is just south of lock 9 part.

This is where the Indiana Ohio trail continues east.  Not taken.

Trail 25 goes up to lock 9 but again it's not the path.  The lock 9 park is on the right side on top of this hill.

Signs and parking at lock 9.

Top view of where you come out after below hill.

This is actually the turn off for the Indiana Ohio trail 39 and how the buckeye trail goes.  I'm thinking about possible 6 mile loop from 18 to 17 goes this way and back the 25 trail.

Reverse view back toward where I came from.

Downtown piqua and here we see signs for buckeye and Indiana Ohio trail.

Some have the name not all from what I saw.

A cool lock post back by lock 9 just as you are entering downtown piqua.  I saw on way back sorry it is out of order.

The sign by the ground of lock post.

Park closed?  Nope kept going down that hill.  Return trip.

A little waterfall into the main river.
